Second Sight to Release Walter Hill's The Long Riders

Independent British distributors Second Sight Films have revealed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray director Walter Hill's (Southern Comfort, The Driver) The Long Riders (1979), starring David Carradine, Stacy Keach and Dennis Quaid. The release is expected to be available for purchase in 2013.
Walter Hill follows in the footsteps of directors Nicholas Ray and Philip Kaufman, and presents his version of the story of the James-Younger gang. Held as heroes by many, and much celebrated for their attacks upon the railroad, the gang became the most famous band of outlaws in the country. They were eventually brought to ruin by the Pinkerton detective agency, losing many of their number in the ill-fated Northfield, Minnesota bank raid. Hill's film tells the whole story with explosive slow-motion violence, vivid period detail, and a cast made up of celebrity brothers (the Carradines, Keachs, Quaids and Guests).
This seems a waste of time considering the US blu-ray has been out for ages and is region free. Also note that the UK blu-ray will be cut by the BBFC. Decent western though
@lobo: Thanks for the tip. It's backordered, but the price is still the same. Just ordered.
@coastalj: Considering the original mix is mono, a remix would be an even bigger compromise to fidelity than typical stereo surround to AC3 remixes are. It wouldn't exactly be an upgrade. In faithfulness to the film as well as tonal fidelity, it would most assuredly be a downgrade.
