Twilight TIme Announces March and April 2013 Releases

Posted December 11, 2012 05:23 PM by Jeffrey Kauffman

Twilight TimeTwilight Time has officially announced at least some of its releases for March and April, including its first ever two disc Blu-ray release, the hotly anticipated Sam Peckinpah film Major Dundee.

On March 12, Twilight Time will release:

The Fury
Christine

On April 9th, Twilight Time will release:

Major Dundee
The Song of Bernadette

Twilight Time's Nick Redman indicates that a third April release may ultimately be forthcoming. No technical specs have been announced, other than that Major Dundee will span two Blu-ray discs. Typically Twilight Time releases offer isolated music scores.

A very strong release slate. Major Dundee is #1 on my list.

For the first time since the NotLD debacle, I'm excited about TT releases. The Fury is a great surprise.

I def want Christine. So the pre-order date, I imagine, will be mid-Feb?

At long last: The Fury! One of the greatest mise-en-scene ever. And I'll definitely buy Christine, too.

Are these limited to 3000 copies as well, if so to hell with it! Re-release "Fright Night" so that everybody who likes it can add it to their library. The prices Twilight Times OOP BDs are going for on amazon are freakin nuts, seems like bad business for them.

I wish their releases were more like Shout Factory, with newly-produced special features. These are the kinds of movies that deserve them most. Love The Fury, but probably not for $30, especially 'cause I'm still miffed about missing out on Fright Night.

The Song Of Bernadette is an interesting film. Jennifer Jones starring in this won an Academy Award for best actress and she deserved that win. Also, an excellent score by the wonderful Alfred Newman. Count me in for a pre-order.

Major Dundee and Song of Bernadette! Song of Bernadette is quite good and would probably be on my top 50 films list.

I am personally fine waiting for every Twilight Time film to get a proper release when their rights expire, if they offered Criterion Quality releases I would have no issue with the sticker price but all of these movies will get a re release in a few years and the OOP cycle collectors all see will live on... Just look at all of those Paramount releases that were OOP and artificially valuable, no they can all be had brand new for 10-15 bucks... But to each his own

Twilight Time should not even do releases. What is the point of limiting to 3000? Obviously there are more than 3000 people who want titles like Fright Night. These films need to be in the hands of a company who will issue them so EVERYONE can enjoy them, not just a privileged few. And lest we forget the Night of the Living Dead fiasco? They obviously do not produce a package worth $30, just to have it lorded over the have-nots by the haves. Look at wht Scream Factory has done with films. Now THAT is worth the price.

Couldnt have said it better Calibraexis, I was sooo sad when I saw they had the rights to Christine, totally sucks, I wish someone would buy them out just to close them so someone like Scream Factory can properly distribute the movies I missed out on Journey to The Center of the Earth AND Fright Night becuase of their Shennanigans, If they want to charge a higher price fine, thats not my concern but making it so you cant even get one no matter what the price is plain ignorant

They press 3000 copies because that's what they can afford. It's a fix price to release that amount, if they want to release more the cost is astonishing to get the rights. If you don't like it don't buy it, stop your whining. Such irony with you calling them ignorant.
