Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced and dated the Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Combo Pack releases of Silent Hill: Revelation and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. Based off the popular cult favorite video game series Silent Hill, action-packed horror sequel Revelation stars Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Trilogy), Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange).
Return to a place of insanity and blood-curdling chills in this shocking sequel to one of the most surreal and gruesome horror films ever created. Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have always tried to stay one step ahead of the malevolent forces intent on their destruction. But on the eve of her 18th birthday, a dangerous revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in a nightmarish landscape forever. Written and directed by Michael J. Bassett (Deathwatch), Silent Hill: Revelation is a psychological trip into terror.
Silent Hill: Revelation will be available on 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack on February 12, 2013.
Looks to be another 3D/2D hybrid disc that Universal is saving money on, but charging the same. I'll get the standard 2D edition, rather than future-proofing my collection, since the hybrid discs have proven unreliable for those just watching in 2D.
There has only been one disc so far that has had any issues when it comes to Hybrid discs and that was Underworld Awakenings. At least as far as i know. Doesnt really suggest that there is an overall issue. There are heaps of hybrid discs out there with no issues. I have no issues with them except where they release a slightly modified set of extras for the 2d as opposed to the 2d/3d.
