Helen Hunt is still acting? It seemed like she'd vanished off the face of the earth.

I can't believe Joaquin Phoenix didn't get nominated for the master.

Wow, Joaquin got snubbed big time. What a joke.

Daniel Craig and Judi Dench deserve just as much notice for Skyfall as Javier Bardem. Still, it's nice to see a Bond film acknowledged by the fancypantsed.

Cloud Atlas got snubbed as an ensemble. Considering how many of the primary cast convincingly played multiple and distinct characters, it certainly is more deserving than Les Mis where Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried were (to my mind) rather disappointing. And, yes, Joaquin gave an amazing, transformative performance.

Nice to see Silver Linings Playbook get recognition... saw it last week, definitely one of the best films I've seen all year.

movieben1138 - "more deserving" is obviously an opinion. And Cloud Atlas was a bomb, whereas Les Mis is a serious Oscar contender.

scarface16, glad to see it's not here. Jamie Foxx's display on SNL should disqualify it. Film Actor's Guild award time, baby!!

@ChadFL, yes Helen Hunt is still acting, although her roles are few and far between. But she's extraordinary in The Sessions. A well-deserved nomination. If it's playing where you live, go see it.

Much love and respect to Dick Van Dyke for this long overdue honor. Dude is a class act and is one of the last living legends we have left.

I wish that "Best Supporting Actress" was "Best Actress In a Leading Role" for Anne Hathaway.
