Hmmm... that's a tough one. Can I pick "Fright Night"? I know it's not an action or sci-fi movie, but it's the only remake I liked. (I haven't seen "Total Recall" yet.)
It will probably be total recall when I see it.. Otherwise, I'd say I have no favorite 80-90 remakes because none are any good. Except the A-Team, which technically doesn't fit here.
Does the A-Team count? Because that's the one I like. It's a very smart action film. Otherwise, Fright Night (for great reinterpretations of everything in the original) and Karate Kid (for one of the best use of Jackie Chan in a recent film).
Not much to choose from (as far as actual remakes go), so Total Recall, from the trailer alone, as I have yet to see it. Or Dredd...again, from the trailer alone.
The Dark Knight Trilogy is not a remake, neither is Star Trek. I'm surprised so many ppl are choosing them (I guess there are wrong answers). I like Open Your Eyes/Vanilla Sky.
