Paramount Pictures has released a full official trailer for J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Peter Weller. Star Trek Into Darkness will open in cinemas across the United States in May 2013.
This weekend, a nine-minute preview of Star Trek Into Darkness was shown at IMAX 3-D screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Looks amazing. I just hope they're being straightforward with us in respect to the villain. If he's not Khan, tell us he's not Khan, and stick to that. Don't throw us some third act twist ala "Talia Al Ghul" where we get "My name is ______, but I am also known by my ancestor's moniker, KHAN!!!!" *MUSIC SWELLS*!!!!!
movieman1979 - I would assume it depends on whether the villain's greatest strength is deception, misdirection and surprise attack. Like, you know, someone from the Al Ghul family.
I like this trailer better than the first. But it depends upon what the movie is really about. If it's about flaws in Kirk's character that get him into trouble or that he has to overcome, I'm all for it. If it's a big shoot-em-up with one more bad guy who wants to destroy the universe, then I don't really care.
I hope that scene where he's on one side of the glass and another Star Trek officer is on the other is not a reboot of the Spock death scene in "The Wrath of Kahn". In fact, since it's rumored that Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Kahn, is this going to simply be a reboot of that film? I sincerely hope not.
i seen the 9 min preview in imax and let me tell u It's just fantastic the whole look feel story line everything even the lens falers in the film were fantastic ,the film in going to be in 3D but i mean still even in 2D the film will be cool.
My IMAX theater did not show any previews or trailers except the usual 'look how awesome IMAX is' pre-movie fun.... I was so hoping they would show this, but alas, nada.
Tons of CGi, lens flare, and the same old bombastic, unoriginal score that we hear in every other damn movie these days. Yet, you people can't wait to see this crap.
