On March 12, 2013, celebrate the 15th anniversary of Walt Disney's 36th animated feature with the 2-Movie Collection BD/DVD Combo Pack release of Mulan and its direct-to-video sequel, Mulan II, both of which are making their Blu-ray debut.
Disney's original animated classic transforms an ancient Chinese legend into a spectacular motion picture event as a courageous princess (voiced by Ming Na, Street Fighter) breaks tradition and joins the Imperial Army with the help of her guardian dragon, Mushu (Eddie Murphy, Tower Heist). The adventure continues in Mulan II as the newly engaged Mulan and General Shang (BD Wong) travel to a distant city in a valiant quest to save their beloved empire. The films also feature the voice talents of Miguel Ferrer, Harvey Fierstein, June Foray, James Hong, Pat Morita, Donny Osmond and George Takei.
Both 1080p/AVC-encoded high definition films will be housed on a single BD-50 disc (each with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track), and two standard DVDs -- one for each movie -- will round out the 3-disc set. Special features include:
Kind annoying with this they included Mulan II on the cover/spine whereas with Hunchback they didn't... guessing the design for this was completed first.
Mulan, one of my favorite Disney animated films and (in my opinion), one of the most underrated to come out of the studio. Count me in the group though that wishes it had come as a standalone.
Never thought I'd read the names Donny Osmond and George Takei in the same sentence. Lol. Never got around to seeing Mulan in theaters so I'll be dropping more dough on Disney next year and picking this up.
One of the few 2D animated features I'm looking forward to owning on Blu-ray. Already have The Lion King, now with Mulan coming soon all I need now is Aladdin.
No one makes bad rip offs of Disney movies like Disney, not even those guys who make the Red Box ripoffs, and no one tries as hard as Disney to make these same rip offs seem like legitament films. Mulan is a great movie for what it is, the movie your daughter loves when she grows out of the "Disney" princess type movies.
