On the same day that sees the Blu-ray debuts of Mulan and The Hunchback of Notre Dame comes the 2-Movie Collection BD/DVD Combo Pack release of Brother Bear and Brother Bear 2. The transformative adventures of Kenai and Koda arrive on Blu-ray on March 12, 2013.
Brother Bear tells the tale of Kenai (Joaquin Phoenix, The Master), an impulsive Inuit boy who, after being magically transformed into a bear, accompanies his little brother bear, Koda (Jeremy Suarez, Zambezia), on a journey to see the Northern Lights. In Brother Bear 2, Kenai (Patrick Dempsey, Grey's Anatomy) reunites with a childhood friend named Nita (Mandy Moore, Tangled) and has to choose between his new life and his old.
Both 1080p/AVC-encoded high definition films will be housed on a single BD-50 disc (each with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track), and two standard DVDs -- one for each movie -- will round out the 3-disc set. Special features include:
Beautiful looking movie, and some great musical sequences. I think this one is underrated, and the sequel is actually not horrible (by Disney DTV sequel standards). Day one for me!
