Dead Man Down

Posted December 29, 2012 05:40 PM by Webmaster

FilmDistrict has released the first official trailer for Dead Man Down (2013). The film is directed by Danish helmer Niels Arden Oplev, who also directed the original The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo film, and stars Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, Terrence Howard, Isabelle Huppert and Dominic Cooper. Dead Man Down is set to open in theaters across the U.S. on March 8th.

Colin Farrell is Victor, the right hand man to an underground crime lord in New York City. He seeks to avenge the death of his wife and daughter caused by his boss. When his employer is threatened by a mysterious killer, Victor also becomes detective. Later on, Victor is seduced and blackmailed by Beatrice (Rapace), a victim turned avenger whose intense chemistry leads them spiraling into payback delivered in violent catharsis. From producer Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious franchise, I Am Legend) and Joel Wyman (Fringe, Keen Eddie) comes a powerful portrait of the relationship between two people caught in the crosshairs of revenge.

I saw this trailer before Django Unchained. I loved the trailer. I was shocked to find out that this is a movie produced by WWE Film company.

Looks like WWE Studios is co-financier with IM Global on the project. Im hoping this means they didnt have much input on the way the movie was made. Maybe they just wanted to cash in on a good movie for a change. Guess we'll see...

Considering Colin Farrell's box-office track record, maybe they just got involved because they need a tax loss?
