Open Road Films has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to director Joshua Michael Stern's Jobs (2013), starring Ashton Kutcher, Dermot Mulroney, James Woods, Lukas Haas, and Matthew Modine. The film is set to have its premiere during the closing night of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
Official synopsis: Jobs is an incredibly personal story covering nearly 40 years of Steve Jobs' life and an intensely character-driven story that is as much a sweeping epic as it is a personal tale. An ultimately inspiring story, Jobs pulls no punches and does not speculate, only telling the truthful real life events as seen through his eyes, emotions, and ingenuity. The life of Steve Jobs.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming adaption that's being written by Aaron Sorkin and produced by Scott Rudin. Sorkin did an amazing job with The Social Network (for which he won Best Adapted Screenplay).
This version, seeing as it's an independent production, seems really interesting though.
