Annapurna Pictures and A24 have released a trailer for award-winning director Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers, starring Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and James Franco. The film premiered at the 69th Venice International Film Festival and was called Korine's "most fully realised, purely satisfying feature film since Gummo." Spring Breakers arrives in theaters nationwide on March 29, 2013.
Brit (Benson), Candy (Hudgens), Cotty (Korine) and Faith (Gomez) have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun. A serendipitous encounter with rapper called "Alien" (James Franco), though, promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. With the encouragement of their new friend, it soon becomes unclear how far the girls are willing to go to experience a spring break they will never forget.
Movie was a lot of fun to watch. Seen it at TIFF last September. You're definitely in for a treat with this one. James Franco is just so over-the-top outrageous.
Other than that ridiculous "Just pretend it's a videogame" line... this looks pretty good. I can't believe I'm hyped about a Korine movie but this one looks like a modern day Kids combined with Girls Gone Wild.
er.. this is just all a joke right? because that was the worst trailer I've ever seen. and they kept saying "spring break" like they didn't think you knew what it was about.. also this proves James Franco will pretty much do anything for money...
