Olympus Has Fallen

Posted January 22, 2013 04:16 PM by Webmaster

FilmDistrict has released a trailer for director Antoine Fuqua's (Training Day) latest project, Olympus Has Fallen (2013), starring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Ashley Judd, Melissa Leo, Dylan McDermott, Rick Yune, and Radha Mitchell. The film will open in theaters across the United States on March 22.

Official synopsis: When the White House (Secret Service Code: "Olympus") is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped within the building. As our national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning's inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President, and avert an even bigger disaster.

Why oh why. What a load of crap. No wonder Americans go around with Fear. Everyone is out to get them. Some really Talented actors here wasting their time.

Something tells me that White House Down (coming later on in June) will probably do better business than Olympus Has Fallen, but I'll still give this one a watch.

As anyone who has read the news once or twice in the past decade (or even in the last few months) would know, there are many people out there who are out to get Americans. With that said, I feel we've seen this movie a few times before and it doesn't look like we are getting anything new or interesting this time around.

With regards to Gerard Butler, I've seen him in a few recent movies and he was quite fantastic (Coriolanus, Machine Gun Preacher). Aaron Eckhart doesn't seem any less campy than Butler in this trailer.

Another invasion of the US movie. Argh. We have enough paranoid, low info people running around here. What are they thinking? Of course they know the scared will rush to see it.

Haley Joel Osment sees dead people.

I see bad CGI.

Looks like a good enough action movie. Unless the "Twist" is that morgan freeman turns out to be the bad guy. Then itl be worse than it looks.

Looks like Cole Hauser would be a bad guy, as a SS agent letting the foreign bad guys in the door. Not sure.

I agree, the CGI action looks atrocious (although not as bad as the motorcycle chase to start "Lockout"). Hopefully that's cleaned up a bit when it opens.

all together now, Die Hard at the White House or White House Under Siege.....Either way popcorn fun and a guilty pleasure purchase.

Looks like a good movie.

Hopefully they give the terrorists' side of the event as well. Lopsided "America, we're number one!" is annoying.

I'll go see it because of Morgan Freeman... I like his movies. He is street level, he doesn't have his head in the clouds.

The last time Butler opened a film (Playing for Keeps), it was such an embarrassment. I almost renounced my fandom because of that film. If my knowledge is right, then this is going to a massive bomb. Avoid like the plague.
