Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the 3D Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Combo Pack release of To the Arctic 3D, an IMAX documentary directed by Academy Award nominee Greg MacGillivray (The Living Sea, Dolphins) and narrated by Academy Award winning actress Meryl Streep (Kramer vs. Kramer, Sophie's Choice, The Iron Lady). The film arrives on Blu-ray on March 26th.
To The Arctic takes you on a never before seen journey through the power of the IMAX lens into the lives of a mother polar bear and her two seven-month-old cubs as they navigate the changing Arctic wilderness they call home. Captivating and intimate footage brings you up close and personal with this family's struggle to survive in a frigid and dynamic environment of melting ice, immense glaciers, spectacular waterfalls, and majestic snow-bound peaks. To The Arctic is written and edited by Stephen Judson (Everest), and produced by Shaun MacGillivray (Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk). The musical score is by Steve Wood, with songs by Paul McCartney.
Warner Bros. has yet to reveal technical specs or special features.
I used to love this type of stuff, documentaries about nature, etc. But they have become so full of propaganda now they are unwatchable for me. it's a shame really.
Been waiting for this but still haven't seen it. Just bought Hubble a few days ago and loved it. Best 3D I own. Will wait for this to hit $20 or so then snatch it up
One of the worst docs I've seen. Its not about nature, it's a global warming movie that uses Polar Bears to pull at the heartstrings. Worst of all are the half truths and outright lies presented to push its agenda.
I agree Maharajah: I'm a die hard IMAX doc junkie, and I thought this was dull sleep inducing film and the 3D isn't implemented very well either, very disappointing ... the trailer touts from the makes of 'Everest' - an IMAX film that is taking F-O-R-ever to get released on bluray... ["waiting"]

You might not have to wait long that picture indicates the 3D version is a bonus so i am thinking it will be in the 20 dollar range or lower upon release.
