Acclaimed director Martin Scorsese will executive produce Luc Besson's (Léon: The Professional, The Fifth Element) latest project, Malavita (2013), starring Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Michelle Pfeiffer. The film's U.S. distributor, Relativity Media, plans to have it in theaters across the country in October.
Based on Tonino Benacquista's novel Badfellas, Malavita tells the story of an ex-mafia boss who is relocated to France's Normandy as part of the U.S. witness protection program after he testifies against his former friends and colleagues.
The plot for this film sounds like the plot for the Netflix original series Lilyhammer, substituting Norway for Normandy. While I plan on watching that show, I just may see this movie first. Lot of talent involved.
Pfeiffer! Michelle is amazing. As are all the gents mentioned here...I just don't think Michelle Pfeiffer gets nearly enough work any more. Probably because of Hollywood's ageist tendencies when it comes to women.
