Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for director Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Slayer, starring Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class), Ewan McGregor (Revenge of the Sith), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), Eleanor Tomlinson (The Illusionist), Ian McShane (Deadwood) and Bill Nighy (Love Actually). The fantasy action/adventure film opens in theaters around the nation on March 1st.
Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Hoult) into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess (Tomlinson), he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend -- and gets the chance to become a legend himself.
What an odd coincidence that both this and Oz are coming out in the same month, both of which are reinterpreted fairytale fantasy action/adventure films, and both of which the directors also made some pretty good Marvel movies (minus NOT doing X3 and acknowledging the existence of a not-so-great Spidey 3, anyway).
Good trailer....BUT, as they say, the proof is in the eating...As long as the producers don't insult my intelligence or basic creative achievements, then this movie could have some legs...
Here is the thing the movie is better, than these trailers make it look. Seriously WB (not that anyone from there will see this) You need to clean house in your trailer editing department. So many decent movies get screwed from horrible trailers, that turn away audiences.
sorry, but this looks absolutely awful.
I mean as a trailer I couldn't be more turned off from the terrible soundtrack to the typical garbage cgi.
the whole modern "fantasy" craze has produced a few worthwhile films, but not surprisingly, way too many totally worthless turds.
I feel confident in saying this film will be the latter.
All the trailers for this guaranteed flop have been awful, which WB yanked from last summer because they knew it would fail. The CGI is unacceptably poor for this day and age.
