EuropaCorp has invited Lisa Ellzey, who until recently served as a vice president of production at Lionsgate and 20th Century Fox, to join the company as an executive vice president of U.S. motion picture production. The company's new office will be in Los Angeles.
EuropaCorp was founded by acclaimed director Luc Besson (Léon: The Professional) in 1999. Its current CEO is Christophe Lambert.
Besson's latest film, Malavita, which is based on Tonino Benacquista's novel Badfellas, is a co-production between Europa Corp and Relativity Media. It stars Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Michelle Pfeiffer, and is executive produced by acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. The film's U.S. premiere is planned for October.
