Independent distributors Shout Factory will bring to Blu-ray James William Guercio's Electra Glide in Blue (1973), starring Robert Blake, Billy Green Bush and Mitch Ryan. The release will be available for purchase online and in stores across the nation on June 4th.
Exact technical specs and supplemental features to be included on this upcoming release are yet to be revealed.
The only thing good-hearted motorcycle cop John Wintergreen (Blake) wants is to become a detective...to wear a big Stetson, smoke fancy cigars and be paid to think. So when he stumbles upon a dead body, he takes on the case-and proves his stuff! But as soon as he's promoted, the corruption he must tolerate makes the Stetson not fit so well and the cigars not taste so good. Forced to confront his own disillusionment, Wintergreen heads out on his bike, the Electra Glide, where he makes another shocking discovery that could cost him his life.

Wow, Shout Factory has really positioned itself as one of the best labels out there for these 70s cult classics that I love with Rolling Thunder, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry and now this coming to blu. Looking forward to it.
Ordered me one. I saw this on the big screen a long time ago. I can't remember too much about the movie, but I remember that I liked it. So I'm in on day one.
HOORAY! I have been waiting years for this release, ever since the DVD went OOP, and in hi-def no less! Shout! has quickly become my favorite distribution company--reminds me of old school Anchor Bay.
I watched it not too long ago hoping for something good and was disappointed. The quality and story reminded me of a Charles Bronson movie for some reason.
The big remaining question is the cut of the film they used. The final scene is censored in the US, as Guercio points it out in his intro, while it was released with all the shots in the European versions.
