Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures announce that director Christopher Nolan's latest film, Interstellar, will be be co-produced and distributed by the two studios, with Paramount Pictures handling domestic distribution and Warner Bros. Pictures distributing the film internationally.
Directed and written by Academy Award-nominee Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises), Interstellar is based on a script by Jonathan Nolan. The film will be produced by Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan of Syncopy Films and Obst of Lynda Obst Productions. Kip Thorne will executive produce. The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.
Is this the same project that Spielberg was attached to? If so, I long wondered what had become of it and am glad to hear that both Nolans are now involved.
My guess is Jonathan Nolan's draft might have been a little cold for Spielberg's sensibility. Christopher will likely rewrite and make it more his own.
"The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding." I saw it already when it was released as Prometheus.
Bluyoda - There's usually a fair bit of humour in Nolan's films. Alfred & Lucious provide some nice lines in the TDK trilogy, also If I remember rightly Tom Hardys & JGL's characters are quite funny in Inception.
@Bluyoda - Bane was funny in "The Dark Knight Rises." It was great comic relief when they dubbed his voice with Rick Moranis doing a bad Sean Connery impression !
