New Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer

Posted March 9, 2013 08:32 PM by Webmaster

ParamountParamount Pictures has released a new trailer for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). The film stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Peter Weller. Star Trek Into Darkness will open in cinemas across the United States on May 17th, 2013.

Plot synopsis: In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Looks really good, seems a lot more action driven than story. Either way, it will be very entertaining.

Yep. Looking forward to this. Not being a massive Trek fan myself, the 09 remake was a brilliant surprise for me and I've lost count of how many times I've watched it now. It help that it is pure visual eye candy on blu

Someone else wanting revenge for something? After Khan... Shinzon... Nero... in fact this'll be the third film in a row that has the same basic plot.

I've seen every single episode and movie with the name Star Trek on it.

I've also seen Star Wars.

Let's not be naive - this is Star Wars set in the Star Trek universe. It is not even remotely similar to Star Trek. This is Science Fantasy, not Science Fiction.

Smart - no offense, but Star Trek was ALWAYS just as much science fantasy as science fiction. Unless Klingons, Romulans, and Vulcans are real.

This is how you do trailers. Put out some enticing action packed teasers that give some broad strokes but don't reveal twists. The images coming out of this are great, the villain is clearly established, the hero's shortcomings and development are implied yet we get to go into the movie pretty unspoiled. Between the net and spoiler filled advance promos it's rare to into a movie fresh these days.
