Django Unchained Becomes the First Tarantino Film to be Released in China

Django Unchained, which won Oscars for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen, will become the first Quentin Tarantino film to be officially released in China. However, the film, which has grossed more than $400 million worldwide so far, will be censored. According to early reports, a little less than two minutes of footage will be cut.
Django Unchained is distributed internationally by Sony Pictures. In the United States, the film is distributed by The Weinstein Company.

Today should be the release day of Django Unchained in China. But this morning The Broadcasting & Television Bureau of China withdrew all the copies from the theater!! Many audiences in the first showing session today were asked to leave when the film had just begun for 5 minutes.
