Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, has revealed that it is planning to release on Blu-ray director William Sachs' The Incredible Melting Man (1977), starring Alex Rebar, Burr DeBenning, and Myron Healey. The release will be available for purchase on July 30th.
Shortly after returning to Earth from a dangerously botched space mission, an astronaut discovers he's contracted an illness that causes his flesh to melt. As he slowly transforms into a mass of walking muck, he turns resentful towards humans and sets out on a ruthless killing spree, while government scientists race to stop him.

still one of my "guilty pleasure" favorites--after all these years! I was impressed with the MOD dvd-r transfer that MGM afforded such a small, insignificant film! So I am guessing that this will be closer to the hi-def remaster sitting in the MGM/Fox vaults. And for a MOD, at least they included the trailer! Knowing what pros Scream!Factory are--this should look awesome and have some cool surprise bonus features. Who knows, maybe even Rick Baker will chime in? (fingers crossed)!
From the Scream Factory Facebook page, here are the projected release times of announced titles:
The Fog - Summer
The Incredible Melting Man - Summer
Hospital Massacre - Late Summer
Day of the Dead - Fall
Scanners II & III - Fall
Night of the Comet - Late Fall
The Horror Show - Late Fall
The Vagrant - Late Fall
Schizoid - Late Fall
The Godsend - Late Fall
One of my all time faves since I begged my dad to take me to see it when I was 10. The MGM DVD-R looked surprisingly good so even if this is just a step up from that it should look great. Thanking God this isn't a TT release so I don't have to loose sleep over possibly missing out on it on day one to scalpers.
