Trent Reznor has revealed, via his website, that the latest Nine Inch Nails album "Ghosts I-IV" will receive deluxe edition packaging that will include a Blu-ray release of all 36 tracks in stunning 96kHz/24-bit quality. When the disc is played in your Blu-ray player, it will display a slide show to accompany the music. Trent Reznor has been a pioneer in providing high definition content to fans, to include the Blu-ray release of the Nine Inch Nails concert 'Beside You In Time'.
The first nine tracks of the album are provided for free on their website, with the option to purchase the entire 2-CD album for only $5. The deluxe edition release, which will include the entire album as well as the Blu-ray disc, will be released on May 1st for $75.

I absolutely can't wait for this. Anything and everything he puts his name on, he puts 110% into it. This will be a stellar release without a doubt. |

So let me get this straight, the CD is $5, and the CD with BD is $75? Humm, too rich for my

The $5 is for the digital download of the entire album. For $10, you get the physical media of the double album. For $75, you get the physical double album, a dvd containing the source files for all songs, and the blu-ray disc. For $300, you get everything from the $75 package, plus the album on four LPs, a hardcover book of prints from the booklet art, a hardcover book of photographs. The $300 package is signed and numbered by Trent, and limited to 2500 copies.
I ordered the $300 package.
{thanks to krelen for this information} |

I'm not a fan of their music, but I would love to see this as the successor to SACD/DVD-A! |

The $75 package gets the hardbound book as well and a very nice slipcase.
As for the comment on why only 96/24, Trent has said multiple times that all his music is captured on ProTools at 96/24 so you are getting the full resolution of the capture. |

While I would consider myself a NIN fanatic (have been since about 91) I couldn't go for the $300 uber package. I am not a vinyl guy so it didn't have any value for me. And as much as I think Reznor is a musical god, his signature isn't something I crave (nor any other stars for that matter). The $75 package did it for me. And I will probably still pick up the CD when it is released to stores in April. I downloaded the MP3 last night from Amazon with no hitch and will download the FLAC version for my home server when they get the traffic down a bit. |

You've got the prices a little wrong, the complete download version is $5, while the CD version is $10 (well, $16.99 with shipping). |
