Section23 Films, Houston-based distributor of Sentai Filmworks anime, has announced the Blu-ray release of five titles: Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere: Season 2, Queen's Blade: Rebellion, Mobile Police Patlabor TV: Collection 1, Phi-Brain: Season 2: Collection 1 and Another. Section23 is releasing one title per week throughout the month of July.
Synopsis: Taking advantage of the opportunity that the Mikawa Conflict provides, Tori and his comrades attempt to rescue Horizon from the Testament Union. But even as the Floating City Musashi speeds towards its next destination, the Floating Island England, Tres Espaņa is preparing its own armada for war against the British Islanders. Now, as the quest of Horizon's emotions builds to its climax, Tori's new battle is about to begin in the land ruled by the Fairy Queen. The reenactment of the history described in the mysterious Testament continues as the secret of the Armor of Deadly Sins is unleashed in the spectacular second season of Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere: Season 2.
Synopsis: Power corrupts, and it when it appears that the once noble Queen Claudette's ways have turned to oppression and heretical persecution, it's up to a new generation of warriors to step up to the plate armor to bear arms and bare their naked fury in open rebellion. The odds may seem unfairly stacked in favor of the Amazonian ranks of the queen, doubly supported by her power of writ and assassins. But the incredible wits and assets of the dazzling array of daring damsels willing to risk their gorgeous skins and put their lithesome bodies on line against her, might just expose a few unexpected weaknesses in the queen's support. It's the wildest fantasy ever as an unprecedented force of fabulous female fighters -- from elven alchemist to half-demon berserker, from undead pirate captain to dragon maid -- all come together with the goal of stripping the queen from her throne in Queen's Blade: Rebellion.
Synopsis: Giant Robots, sociopaths, madmen waving guns: these aren't just the problems the Mobile Police have to deal with every day, these are the Mobile Police. But in a world where giant robots called Labors are frequently used for criminal purposes, the boys and girls in blue have to face things that are even bigger and scarier. So when police cadet Noa Izumi comes in to take a pilot aptitude test and instead initiates a high speed chase after a stolen Police Labor, it's clear that she's got exactly the right combination of guts, brains and just plain crazy that the Second Special Vehicles Division desperately needs. But fitting into the frequently insane lifestyle of SV2 won't be easy. She'll have rivals for the pilot seat of the mech that's stolen Noa's heart, and her patrol duties will include herding whales, exorcising hauntings and fighting rogue military units on top of the usual terrorists. On the other hand, she gets to carry the biggest handgun ever. The wheels of justice keep turning (or, in this case, running on giant metal legs) as SV2 hits the street in Mobile Police Patlabor TV: Collection 1.
Tech specs and extras have yet to be detailed. Mobile Police Patlabor TV is being released via four volumes. Volumes 2-4 are set to be released every other month, in September, November and January 2014 respectively. As previously reported, Section23 is also bringing the PatlaborOriginal OVA Series to Blu-ray on April 30th. The OVA collection is currently available for pre-order.
Synopsis: After finally overcoming the POG, Kaito Daimon believes that he'll be spending his free time solving puzzles of the non-lethal variety. Unfortunately, there's a new group in town: the Orpheus Order, and they've got other plans. Plans that involve the imminent demise of Kaito and maybe a friend or two of his along the way as well. If Kaito could remember just what it was he did to earn the undying enmity of Freecell, the Order's premier card-carrying member, he'd be happy to apologize. But until he does, Kaito and his friends are going to find themselves confronted with puzzle after puzzle, each more convoluted and deadly than the last. The adventure continues in Phi-Brain: Season 2, Collection 1 (Phi-Brain ~ Puzzle of God: The Orpheus Order Collection 1).
Synopsis: Mei Misaki was cute, athletic and one of the most popular girls in her school. Why should a little thing like death change that? Now, twenty-three years after Mei's mysterious demise, a new transfer student discovers that not only is his school's student body one corpse short of a full roster, but that some secrets never leave high school. And what's more, all of this may somehow be tied to his own family past. What is the secret and how does it all connect? And even if Kouichi does figure it out, will that knowledge help save him? As the school bells toll a deadly dirge and students begin to die, things that were never properly buried come back to haunt the high school of the damned in Another.
