Lifeforce SteelBook Edition Coming Up

Posted April 2, 2013 03:48 PM by Webmaster

Arrow VideoArrow Video have revealed that they are planning to release a SteelBook Edition of Tobe Hooper's sci-fi thriller Lifeforce (1985), starring Steve Railsback, Mathilda May, and Peter Firth. The release is expected to be available for purchase later this year.

A joint Anglo-American mission headed by Commander Tom Carlsen (Railsback) explores an alien spacehip discovered inside Haley's Comet and finds a trio of naked slumbering humanoid aliens. When they wake up, the aliens make quick work of Carlsen's team, sucking the lifeforce from their unsuspecting bodies, and are soon charting the course back to Earth ready to take on the general population. Carlsen does his best to stop the invasion, but in no time at all London is placed at the wandering mercy of beautiful naked vampire space lady (May) who has no moral compunction about either mass slaughter or her own state of constant undress.

That is easily one of the best steelbook cases I've seen for a Blu-Ray release.

WOW that's some artwork. I just wish this movie were a little better. Still, it's kind of a glorious mess and that cover may tip me into buying it.

I never really cared much for this movie, but the steelbook is sweet ! Reminds me of something out of Heavy Metal magazine. I might have to get it.

Looks like I'll be holding off buying Shout! Factory's release. This steelbook is a must-have.

Looks nice, but the Shout release also uses original art on the flipside of the reversible cover. One of my favorite movies. May double dip for PQ differences or extras.

What for? We don't know about the quality of the Collector's editions yet. And what do we need a dozen different editions for? Release a remastered director's cut and a theatratical cut for every movie and that's it.

I unashamedly love this epic b flick. Like Halloween and The Evil Dead films, I will probably buy all the editions. Because I'm a big sucker. But I can own up to that.
