Dark Angel Blu-ray

Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, has confirmed that it will release on Blu-ray Craig R. Baxley's Dark Angel a.k.a. I Come in Peace (1990), starring Dolph Lundgren, Brian Benben, and Betsy Brantley. The release is expected to arrive on the market in August.
Sci-fi action thriller starring Dolph Lundgren as Houston vice squad cop Jack Caine, who teams up with an FBI agent to uncover the drugs operation that was responsible for the death of Caine's partner. What neither of them realises is that the drug ring is run by aliens. Brian Benben and Betsy Brantley co-star.
Excellent! One of several "better than I thought it'd be" early-90s action flicks. Dolph's acting is wretched (he's definitely improved over time) but honestly, who cares? Completely brainless low-budget action goodness. Now they need to release director Baxley's follow-up STONE COLD so we can enjoy the thespian stylings of Brian Bosworth in HD!
Yeah, I too am in high hopes we'll get a proper Dolph "Punisher" release stateside, considering the releases that just came out are Region-B locked.
Glad to see "Dark Angel" coming to Blu for the fans. I have the MGM MOD DVD, and the quality is very good, so the Blu should offer a very nice presentation. I can't warrant shelling out the usual Shout price of around $20 for this one, as the only reason I watch the film is pretty much for the foul-mouthed Bail Bondsman (and unfortunately, he doesn't last long), but I could see picking it up a ways down the road if the title ever becomes available for a budget price. Now, if that Bail Bondsman had been the hero of the picture (and Dolph his sidekick), well then I'd probably have been willing to pay upwards of $100 for this one!
Man I love this full on "B" flick! I actually saw this in the theaters. Martin Tupper and the Punisher vs a bunch of dorky trigger happy drug dealing yuppies and a seven foot tall alien with an explosive round machine gun. Day one! Now give us the Punisher too!
