R.I.P.D. Trailer

Posted April 18, 2013 09:05 AM by Webmaster

Universal 100thUniversal Pictures has issued the first trailer for director Robert Schwentke's R.I.P.D., which stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon and Mary-Louise Parker. The supernatural action comedy is based on the Dark Horse Entertainment comic book, "Rest in Peace Department" by Peter M. Lenkov, and is set to arrive in in 2D and 3D U.S. theaters on July 19th.

Synopsis: Veteran sheriff Roy Pulsifer (Bridges) has spent his career with the legendary police force known as R.I.P.D. tracking monstrous spirits who are cleverly disguised as ordinary people. His mission? To arrest and bring to justice a special brand of criminals trying to escape final judgment by hiding among the unsuspecting on Earth. Once the wise-cracking Roy is assigned former rising-star detective Nick Walker (Reynolds) as his junior officer, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork. When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, two of R.I.P.D.'s finest must miraculously restore the cosmic balance... or watch the tunnel to the afterlife begin sending angry souls the wrong way.

Looks like a cross between MIB, Ghostbusters and a Jeff Bridges cross between True Grit's Rooster Cogburn and Big Lebowski's The "Dude"

I have been waiting two years for this. I will be seeing this day 1 in the theater for sure.

I haven't collected comics in years - been giving all my money to movies instead, but it sounds like I might return to collecting the funny books in a few years if Disney has their way - so I've never heard of RIPD. But, between those guns and the absurdly cheesy title, having not even watched the trailer or read the synopsis yet, that just screamed Comic Adaptation. Looking forward to it!

I may see this. I'm starting to like Ryan Reynolds more since I saw in him safe house last year.

I already saw this movie when it was called Men in Black and starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Hopefully the movie will be decent, but doesn't seem very original at all.

So basically it's Men in Black 4 with Rooster Cogburn filling the old guy role. This won't do well at the box office.

I don't know if I see the Ghostbusters references everyone is mentioning. Yes, it's about the dead but they don't look like spirits at all. This literally looks like MIB 4 with a new team. The aliens, I mean dead, all look like they crawled off the set of MIB, even when they are shot the slime residue looks the same! That being said, it looks like it could be fun, but I'll be skipping this in theatres. Too many better looking movies coming out this year.

More crap from Hollywood. It didn't work with DEAD HEAT why would it work now? Yawn.

I LOVED Dead heat !! This looks like ALOT of fun. This is one of the 13 movies I will see this summer. Bridges is awesome in anything he does, Ryan Reynolds is very good if he is given the right role. (Green Lantern was a total mess).

In the middle with this one. Not much of a MIB fan, which automatically puts me off this one. Also, not much of a Reynolds fan. I am, however, a huge Bridges fan.

Not too excited, but I hope it surprises me.

It looks like MIB. And the dead look horrible and don't look menacing.

"MIB" meets "Drive Angry"

Interesting combo.
