Remarkable. I wonder why it took so long for UMG to pursue this. A few things here that they released on DVD-A and/or SA-CD but a lot of "new" (to high rez) titles, too. Region-free I trust . . .

Here's a press release in french:

http://www.cnetfrance.fr/news/universal-lance-sa-gamme-de-blu-ray-pure-audio-39790301.htm

These discs will be sold exclusively by the french FNAC store (fnac.com) during 5 months, after which they will be available from other stores as well (in September).

Some more info on the classical releases:

Mahler: Symphony No. 5 - Karajan / Berlin Philharmonic (Recorded 1973) (No previous hi-res release)
Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 - Karajan / Berlin Philharmonic (Recorded 1977) (Previously released as a MCH SACD - Catalog 471 640-2)
Verdi: Rolando Villazón, Gianandrea Noseda/Orchestra Teatro Regio Torino (2012 Release) - Album website here: http://www.deutschegrammophon.com/html/special/villazon-verdi/ (No previous hi-res release)
Antonin Dvorak: Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" (Tracks 1-4) - Smetana: Die Moldau (5) - Franz Liszt: Les Préludes (6) - Ferenc Fricsay/Berlin Philharmonic(1-5)/RIAS Berlin (6) (Recorded 1959-1960) (No previous hi-res release)
Beethoven: Violin Concerto & Romances- Anne-Sophie Mutter, Masur/NY Philharmonic (2002 CD release) (Previously released as a MCH SACD - Catalog 471 633-2)
Beethoven: Symphonies 5 & 7- Carlos Kleiber/Vienna Philharmonic (Recorded 1974-1976) (Prevously released on DVD-Audio - 477 5119 9 - and SACD - 471 6302 2)
Wagner: Jonas Kaufmann, Donald Runnicles/Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin (2013 Release) (No previous hi-res release)

A few other notes...the Karajan Beethoven 9 is the same as the individual SACD release of his 1977 version, not of the stereo-only version included in the SACD set of his 1963 cycle. Credo and Sempre libera are also classical releases, of course, but the identification already given is probably sufficient. Both were already released on SACD. One question is whether Universal will include a MCH track on these releases, since most of these have already been released in MCH.
