Next week, beginning on May 13th, Universal Music will release its first 36 Blu-ray Audio titles under the High Fidelity Pure Audio banner. Each title will feature PCM, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio 96kHz/24bit audio tracks. Artists and composers available include John Coltrane, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Eddy Mitchell, Nina Simone, Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsboro, Johnny Halladay, The Velvet Underground, Miles Davis, Beethoven, Mahler and many more.
Each title also comes with a coupon to download MP3 or FLAC versions of the tracks for play on portable media devices. The downloads are being made available via mShuttle, a feature developed by Pure Audio Blu-ray and utilized by 2L.
The first High Fidelity Pure Audio titles are as follows:
Mahler: Symphony No. 5 - Karajan / Berlin Philharmonic (Recorded 1973) (No previous hi-res release)
Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 - Karajan / Berlin Philharmonic (Recorded 1977) (Previously released as a MCH SACD - Catalog 471 640-2)

Beethoven: Violin Concerto & Romances- Anne-Sophie Mutter, Masur/NY Philharmonic (2002 CD release) (Previously released as a MCH SACD - Catalog 471 633-2)
Beethoven: Symphonies 5 & 7- Carlos Kleiber/Vienna Philharmonic (Recorded 1974-1976) (Prevously released on DVD-Audio - 477 5119 9 - and SACD - 471 6302 2)
Wagner: Jonas Kaufmann, Donald Runnicles/Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin (2013 Release) (No previous hi-res release)
A few other notes...the Karajan Beethoven 9 is the same as the individual SACD release of his 1977 version, not of the stereo-only version included in the SACD set of his 1963 cycle. Credo and Sempre libera are also classical releases, of course, but the identification already given is probably sufficient. Both were already released on SACD. One question is whether Universal will include a MCH track on these releases, since most of these have already been released in MCH.
