The Weinstein Company has released the first trailer for John Wells' highly anticipated new film August: Osage County (2013), starring Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Juliette Lewis, Ewan McGregor, Sam Shepard, Dermot Mulroney, Abigail Breslin, and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film will open in theaters across the United States on November 8th.
Official synopsis: August: Osage County tells the dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them. Tracy Letts' play made its Broadway debut in December 2007 after premiering at Chicago's legendary Steppenwolf Theatre earlier that year. It continued with a successful international run.
@RBBrittain, I think Meryl Streep is a pretty decent character actor, but Julia Roberts I think is pretty awful. She can act, sure, but she is highly annoying. Which I think most of America agrees with since she has not had an even remotely successful movie performance since Erin Brokovich.
