Second Sight to Release George A. Romero's Creepshow

Posted May 24, 2013 05:46 PM by Webmaster

Second Sight FilmsIndependent British distributors Second Sight Films have announced that they will release on Blu-ray director George A. Romero's Creepshow (1982), starring Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, and Leslie Nielsen. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.

Based on a screenplay by Stephen King and featuring a soundtrack by John Harrison. A tribute to the D.C. comics of the 1950s, this film is split into five horror stories, linked by a sub-story about a young boy reading the tales in a comic book. Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, E.G. Marshall and Leslie Nielsen all make appearances, as does 'Creepshow' writer Stephen King, who plays a man attacked by a weird plant.

Jack Kamen's cover for the comic book

That is almost worth double-dipping for!

Sweet cover art ! And I'm guessing it will have more extras than the WB release. Best scene in Creepshow - Ed Harris dancing. The guy has the moves !

I have a deep love for this film. Hope all the extras from the R2 DVD are ported over. Maybe a 5.1 HD sound for the amazing score. I have little hope that Warner would do it justice in the US. In a perfect world, Scream Factory would do a collector's edition of it. Love the comic book cover.

I'm in for this regardless, but that would make one sexy steelbook....

HuggyBear73~ Where are you getting this good feeling from? Since this is a Warner title, there is no chance of that happening.

Nice cover art. But I have the WB release and it's fine for me.

WB don't lease out titles to anyone except (in I believe only the case of Badlands) Criterion. Scream (or anyone else) won't be releasing this in the US.

Love this movie, but what is the point of this being released again?
New special features I hope? The cover art is awesome, but won't justify a double dip for me.

Second Sight says on Facebook that a whole host of new and existing extras will be included. Date and more details to be announced shortly.
