In the Mouth of Madness Blu-ray

Posted June 10, 2013 02:18 PM by Webmaster

Warner 90th AnniversaryWarner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of director John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness, which stars Sam Neill, Julie Carmen, Jurgen Prochnow, David Warner, John Glover, Bernie Casey, Charlton Heston, Frances Bay and a young Hayden Christensen. The Lovecraftian cult classic arrives on Blu-ray in time for Halloween, on October 15th.

Synopsis: Best-selling author and Stephen King contemporary Sutter Cane's newest novel is literally driving his readers insane. When the author inexplicably vanishes, an insurance investigator named John Trent (Sam Neill) is hired by Arcane Publishing director Jackson Harglow (Charlton Heston) to track the author down. But Trent, along with Cane's editor Linda Styles (Julie Carmen), soon finds himself crossing the barrier between fact and fiction, and entering a terrifying world of evil and madness from which there is no escape.

Technical specifications and special features have yet to be detailed.

"Halloween 35th anniversary edition" and now "In The Mouth of Madness"! This halloween is gonna be a Carpenter extravaganza! Add "The Fog" in july and "Body Bags" later this year(possibly halloween), what an awesome year for Carpenter fans!

Thank God.
Prince of Darkness, In the Mouth of Madness, now all we need is Motel Hell and Without Warning to finally have a normal convo flow on FB at Scream Factory's page. Without everyone requesting them.

now bring on
VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED!!!!!

Let the tsunami of Halloween 2013 BD releases commence. My wishlist...

Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III
Dawn of The Dead '78 extended cut
Army of Darkness director's cut (if nothing is announced soon, I may pull the trigger on the german collectors set)
Friday The 13th collection (The rumors are starting to heat up on this one. Here's hoping WB will give us a 3D BD for pt 3)
Phantasm
Shocker (SCREW YOU, I LIKE THIS MOVIE!!!!)
The Serpent & The Rainbow
Suspiria (I've got the U.K. disc, but I'd love to see it w/ it's proper color timing)

....and from the wishful thinking files

House of 1000 Corpses director's cut (last I heard, no one knows where the trims are, but if we can get the Richard Donner cut of Superman II 25+ years after the fact....)
Trick or Treat (satanic rock star ressurected by Skippy from Family Ties is the text book definition of awesome)
The Pit and The Pendulum unrated (it's the only Full Moon feature I like)

Catastrophe - Ditto that on the special features! The treatment from Scream! Factory has been so good that I'm a bit afraid of a Road Warrior/Beyond Thunderdome style snub on the bonus side with this release. The commentary included on the previous release is a must, but here's hoping for an honest-to-goodness special edition of one of Carpenter's best films.

Someone just asked about a blu-ray release of this at a midnight screening of it on Friday and Sandy King didn't know anything. Glad to see it's getting released. Hopefully the audio commentary gets ported over.

I will be getting this day one, regardless. However, it would be supremely awesome if we got some great special features. How about a doc on the Apocalypse trilogy?

How about some John Carpenter's Vampires on blu-ray now and Memoirs of an Invisible Man. That should about do it on blu-ray I think for the movies he directed.
