@vanscottie: I agree. Mickey's Christmas Carol is my all time favorite version of the Charles Dickens classic but I refused to spend the inflated cost of the movie itself on DVD. Instead I bought Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse on DVD. That title has this movie plus a few other shorts from a long time ago. I paid less for it than it would have costs buying Mickey' Christmas Carol by itself. They need to do that with these similar short titles. Extra bonus is that I don't have to keep switching out DVDs for my kids when they watch it during Christmas.
Can you imagine if they released each Pixar short on a separate disc instead of putting many together on a compilation?
BD.com shows Mickey at 95 minutes, but a couple posters above indicate it's just a short-film. What am I missing? I think the only Mickey Christmas special I've ever seen is Twice Upon a Christmas, which my niece is really into Mickey and really loved, so I need to stock up on anything Mickey that Disney graces us with on the BD format.
I agree that Disney needs to show the same kind of love for their live-action catalog titles on BD that they do their animations. There are so many way overdue, like The Three Musketeers - that one should have been prepped to coincide with the last film. But Disney doesn't even seem to care about their live action films anymore. The few they do grace us with are most often badly in need of the same remastering they almost routinely do for their animations. Instead, with live-action, Disney seems content with devalueing their brand by regurgitating ten year old masters created primarily with dvd in mind.
The rumors (Repeat: Rumors) are that Mickey's Christmas Carol (runtime 26 mins) may be packaged with The Small One(runtime 26 mins) and several Disney cartoons (7 min each) making the total 95 mins. The Small one is one of my favorite Disney shorts. If this is true, then Mickey's Christmas Carol with The Small One is a no brainer.
