Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release Defiance: Season One on Blu-ray this fall. The action-packed science fiction series stars Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jamie Murrary, Graham Greene and Mia Kirshner, and arrives on Blu-ray on October 15th.
Synopsis: Defiance is the first of its kind. A convergence of television and multi-platform videogame featuring an interconnected world that evolves together -- series and videogame -- into one story. The year is 2046 and more than three decades have passed since aliens arrived, changing life on Earth forever. In the frontier town of Defiance, a drifter-turned-lawkeeper, Nolan (Bowler, True Blood), and Mayor Rosewater (Julie Benz, Dexter) attempt to lead the human and alien residents through the prejudices and politics that threaten the fragile peace they've fought for.
The Blu-ray release of Season One features all twelve first season episodes, 1080p video, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, an UltraViolet digital copy of the entire season, and a number of extras:
I so badly wanted to like this, with the lack of good sci fi on television.. i wanted to like this so bad.. unfortunately, it was just so.. soapy. The most generic characters i was 6 episodes in and still did not give a shit about any of them, generic storylines, and extremely cliched. I could go on and on but no need to kick it when its down all the bad word of mouth will do that itself.. Ill still with Bates Motel & Hannibal, the 2 best new shows of the year
Really cool this is going to be on blu. I've been suprised at how many shows on SyFy are not released on blu ray or even in a lot of cases dvd! Destination Truth only has season 1 out and several of their other shows have nothing released. I did see where Caprica is under the recently listed for blu ray however!
Disappointing schizophrenic show. One moment it is good the next it is bad. I didn't make it all the way through the pilot episode due to terminal boredom, the second episode was much better, but then I could get past the first few minute of episode 3, which really sucked and I never went back.
It hard to go from watch Game of Thrones to such a complete cluster frak that this show was. I think the problem is that the writes on the show where going for boring Romeo and Juliet style family relations, to lets appeal to people that play the computer game, to lets do a story line that is actually interesting. This show was a schizophrenic mess.
