Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is reissuing JFK in a 4-disc Ultimate Collector's Edition box set that includes a 44-page photo book and other numerous collectibles. Director Oliver Stone's controversial Academy Award-winning drama stars Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, Joe Pesci, Laurie Metcalf, Gary Oldman and Michael Rooker. The Ultimate Collector's Edition is set to arrive later this year and is already available for pre-order.
Synopsis: JFK chronicles the investigation into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy led by New Orleans district attorney Jim Garrison (Costner), a man who adamantly believes the "lone gunman" theory is a fraud and that Lee Harvey Oswald (Oldman) was nothing more than a patsy. Garrison encounters insurmountable obstacle after obstacle as he moves closer and closer to the truth, all the while working to prove the assassination was carried out by a ring of conspirators.

Hopefully (though there's No Mention of it above) they'll do Something with the PQ & AQ, which received just a 3.5/5 (PQ) & 3/5 (AQ) in the JFK Review on this site. If not, what's the point of a reissue
Seriously Warner? For your "Ultimate" edition we get 3 standard dvds of extras? BD's advanced interactivity and Java platform benefit the extras maybe even more than the movie. Considering the first dvd also includes the movie, all this appears to be is the exhisting BD packaged with the existing, 5 yr old "Ultimate" 3-disc dvd set with some additional swag. At least the price is reasonable, if only further indication of the utter lack of effort Warner seems to think their property, and the fans thereof deserve.
I already have the "normal" blu-ray, but since "jfk" is my favorite movie and i always wanted to have the digibook in my collection, this is a no brainer. at least it looks like it is indeed the digibook which is OOP now.
love all the discs, but could do without all of the print extras, just take up room on my shelf. i'd like to get rid of my dvd though. maybe we'll get lucky and get a release without all the print extras.
Its not missing any extras it has the same extras as before with blu ray digibook with new extras on 3 dvd and more extras than previous ultimate dvd release only missing campaign badge and The Kennedys: America's Emerald Kings dvd from what I can see
I have the uk zavvi steelbook on order and I also will be getting this as I have special reasons I was born on 22 of November
Assassination Updated" documentary (29:40)
"Meet Mr. X: The Personality and Thoughts of Fletcher Prouty" featurette (11:01
are on the blu ray as before
IMHO Stone should be ashamed for creating this revisionist history. Many of his "facts" have been shown to be flimsy at best. I was also annoyed by his skewed vision of The Doors. I was alive when they played the Sullivan show and Morrison didn't snarl "higher" into the camera (of course the original footage is widely available). I know a movie has to distill and, in some cases, compress and alter events to make it play effectively, but there are limits to what I consider reasonable. I'll pass.
