New Trailer - Thor: The Dark World

Posted August 7, 2013 12:34 PM by Webmaster

Walt Disney StudiosDisney and Marvel have released a second trailer for director Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Rene Russo, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings and Tadanobu Asano. The sequel to Marvel's Thor is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on November 8th.

Official Synopsis: Marvel's Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor (Hemsworth), the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's Thor and The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos... but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin (Hopkins) and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster (Portman) and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

I'm hoping it is better than the last Thor movie. Though this trailer only makes it look slightly better. Though this does have Chris O'Dowd and the 9th Doctor Christopher Eccleston, of course they are not shown in the trailer.

I agree. Trailer got me curious but wanting to see more. Have to admit, trailer just looked "meh" to me. Not enough action. Hopefully....all will be good when the movie is released.

Looks good! Seems more "bright" than the first one. The original looked too dark (in look not tone).

Lots of typical moments in that trailer, but for me the beauty of Thor is that it still manages to be fun somehow.

Trailer looks much better than the first film which was embarrassing.

As for the last scene in the trailer, how many films are they going to use that same joke in, seriously it's getting boring now!

I'm totally looking forward to this one! So far, I've enjoyed most of the Marvel movies from the Assembly team. And the first Thor was pretty cool! Even though there is room for improvement and making it more interesting.

This is the best trailer yet for the new film! I do have to say though that I find it hilarious when I see people complain that the trailer either "doesn't show enough action" or "doesn't show enough of the story" and yet when studios do exactly that, these same people turn around and hate on them for revealing too much. Haha it's like make up your minds jeez! Again I say that this trailer is the best one yet for "Thor: The Dark World."

Never saw the first one (and have no intention to) but this one looks half decent. I like the fact that most of it seems to not be taking place on Earth... Might rent it a one point...

Well, the first one was garbage and with Portman acting like a love sick ass, that just made it worse. This doesn't look much better but can't b worse. A rental for sure .

Chris Hemsworth really needs to see a doctor for that terrible head cold he has.

Ah, it's good to see Natalie Portman return to Naboo.

I guess its safe to assume that yet again, none of the other Avengers are going to help Thor on this one (a la "Iron Man 3").

Eh who cares? This does look very well done!
