The Hangover Trilogy Blu-ray

Posted August 29, 2013 12:31 PM by Webmaster

Warner 90th AnniversaryIn addition to a standlone BD/DVD/UltraViolet combo pack, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced it will release The Hangover Part III as part of a Hangover Trilogy box set, which includes all previously released and upcoming special features, as well as an exclusive documentary that covers all three films. The Hangover Trilogy arrives on Blu-ray on December 3rd, two months after The Hangover Part III makes its October 8th Blu-ray debut.

Official Synopsis: Todd Phillips invites you to embark on the ultimate odyssey of bad judgement, hilarious havoc and madcap mayhem with The Hangover Trilogy. Join "The Wolfpack," a.k.a. Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis), and Doug (Justin Bartha), as they endure a plethora of outrageous indignities including disaster-magnet Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) in all three movies from the explosively funny Hangover franchise.

The Hangover films are presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround. Details about the brand new documentary exclusive to The Hangover Trilogy set have yet to be revealed.

I seen this coming. I wonder if they are going to release the third one in steelbook at best buy since the first two came out in steelbook?

I find they get less funny as each one continues but they're still good comedies. I'll def. pick this one up!

I wonder if the first Hangover movie will be a remaster with DTS-HD 5.1 sound. The first release didn't have DTS-HD.

I would assume this means part 3 is the last one they're doing?

They said in the trailers for Hangover III that it was going to be the last movie, and the tagline on the poster for Hangover III said "The end."

I never watch trailers - they give too much away. In fact, after popping in a BD, I typically leave the room for 5 minutes to let the disc load and get through all the junk - a habit I picked up thanks to Panasonic, my old Panny took about 5 minutes just to load some BDs. Of course that doesn't work with Disney discs that ask your language, or with some that don't default to a menu or even have one.

The last two deserve scrutiny, but not the first one. It was one of the most hilarious comedies I've seen in years. I see the sequels as like Disney's DTV sequels.

The first was good enough for me. Still disappointed at how bad it went.

@Ryan - lossless is lossless. The quality will be no different. All they are doing is reauthoring the disc with the current toolset they are using, which encodes in DTS-HD MA.

Pixar's latest toolset uses TrueHD and Warner is using it on "The Right Stuff".

Please don't crucify me for saying this, but I have no yet bought any of the "Hangover" movies and I would like to buy them. However, does anyone know if the first "Hangover" movie included in this boxset will be the unrated edition?

Lossless might be lossless, but DTS-HD sounds a lot better on my system than TrueHD. Its louder than TrueHD. I have to crank it way up on the first Hangover compared to The Hangover Part II.

I'm in the minority here but I totally enjoyed Hangover Part II. If I'll rate them each other:

Hangover Part I: 9.5/10
Hangover Part II: 9/10
Hangover Part III: 7.5/10
