Amazon Gold Box Deal of the Day: Rocky - The Undisputed Collection

Posted September 13, 2013 03:33 AM by Webmaster

Amazon Gold BoxAmazon's Blu-ray Gold Box Deal of the Day affects Rocky: The Undisputed Collection, which includes Rocky (1976), Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), Rocky V (1990), and Rocky Balboa (2006). The Blu-ray box set is available, today only, for $19.99 (a 72% markdown from its SPR).

Rocky

Rocky Balboa is a Philadelphia club fighter who seems to be going nowhere. But when a stroke of fate puts him in the ring with a world heavyweight champion, Rocky knows that it's his one shot at the big time - a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go the distance and come out a winner!

Rocky II

After club fighter Rocky Balboa goes the distance with heavyweight champ Apollo Creed, boxing fans clamor for a rematch. But Rocky, having sustained massive injuries in the bout, announces his retirement. He concentrates on his relationship with Adrian, marrying her and attempting to settle into the routine of family life. But as Rocky tries to make a new start for himself, he realizes that he can't escape his true calling. The ring beckons once more, and the "Italian Stallion" must prepare for the fight of his life.
Rocky III

As Rocky Balboa fights his way into the hearts of millions, life couldn't be better. He scores ten consecutive wins, lands lucrative endorsement contracts, and becomes famous throughout the world. But when Clubber Lang K.O's Rocky in a humiliating defeat, it becomes apparent that the"Italian Stallion" has lost his edge. Considering hanging up his gloves, Rocky receives encouragement from an unlikely ally: his old nemesis, Apollo Creed. With Creed's help, Rocky strives to regain the "eye of the tiger" before confronting Lang in a grueling rematch for the world heavyweight championship.

Rocky IV

Rocky proudly holds the world heavyweight boxing championship, but a new challenger has stepped forward: Drago, a six-foot, six-inch, 240-pound fighter who has the backing of the Soviet Union. This time, Rocky's training regimen takes him to icy Siberia, where he prepares for a globally-televised match in the heart of Moscow. But nothing can truly prepare him for what he's about to face a powerfully charged fight to the finish in which he must defend not only himself, but also the honor of his country!

Rocky V

Upon returning home from his latest triumph, Rocky learns that all of his money has been lost by an unscrupulous financial advisor. To make matters worse, his fight related injuries force his retirement from the ring. So, Rocky, his wife Adrian and his son Rocky, Jr. move to their old low-rent neighborhood in South Philadelphia. There, the fighter must resolve the deep-rooted resentment held by his son, a bitterness that grows when Rocky trains Tommy Gunn, a young boxer who soon rises to national prominence. When Tommy turns against his mentor and publicity taunts him, Rocky knows he must fight once more.

Rocky Balboa

Former heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa steps out of retirement and back into the ring, putting himself against a new rival in a dramatically different era. After a virtual boxing match declares Rocky Balboa the victor over current champion Mason The Line Dixon, the legendary fighter's passion and spirit are reignited. But when his desire to fight in small, regional competitions is trumped by promoters calling for a rematch of the cyber- fight, Balboa must weigh the mental and physical risks of a high profile exhibition match against his need to be in the ring.

The Last Rocky listed "Rocky V" should be "Rocky Balboa" as in the first paragraph...

This is great news!

2016 will be the 30th anniversary. If amazon are getting rid of their old boxsets then perhaps some new transfers may be on their way in time for teh anniversary.

That's quite a deal, if you want the movies and don't have them already.

As of now, this is the "Undisputed Collection", but it won't be if/when "Creed" comes out.

Holy crap! That's an insane deal!!! That's $3.33 per movie! If you ever wanted this series or even just a few of the six features - and you don't yet have it yet, you don't buy this now... you are a cheap son of a witch with a "B"

I can't believe there's potentially going to be more to this series in the form of Creed's grandson! It will never go away

When I bought this set before, IV-VI wouldn't work in my Playstation 3. They would just load and load and load... Amazon gave me a refund, no questions asked (and no explanation given), but what I want to know is: does anybody have details on this problem? If I purchased it again, would it have the same issue?

This is NOT a Gold Box deal. I bought this for the same price when it first came out. Come on, Amazon! You're letting me down here!

The box would be worth more if Rocky V wasn't in there.

I really like the slim packaging. It's an almost perfect collection except for the missing Rocky commentary track.

They all have their own "charm"... but stop making MORE!! Rocky isn't James Bond!
