I LOVE that we are getting older seasons of The Simpsons on blu, but can someone please explain to me just why they keep re-releasing older seasons, but haven't released a new season since 20?

@LeniSethWalden: If I'm not mistaken, Matt Groening said they only released the 20th season beacuse of the Anniversary. That set is also really barebones, and they said they'll release them chronologically, and then revisit the 20th season and give it the same treatment extras-wise that the other seasons have gotten.

@GC Riot: You are absolutely, 100% correct, my friend. That's the plan.

I just wish they'd come out a little quicker. I've been collecting these for a long time now.

At this rate, they might be able to release the whole series in about 20 years!!

Just release the first five seasons on blu and forget about the rest.

Season 20 is also when they switched to HD (half-way through the season).
Season 13 (the earliest on blu) is when they switched to creating them digitally (or something along those lines).

I own them all so far and will buy this once it hits $30

Put out 1-10 on a cool box set and that's all anyone needs.

They really do need to release these quicker. It seems like the season sets have been coming out since the dawn of time and we're still nowhere near being caught up to whatever the current season is.

While I'd love to see these quicker, I don't want them to skimp on the extras. I mean, we get commentary tracks on EVERY EPISODE. Name me another series where that happens.
