Starship Troopers Coming to Blu-ray

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed that they will release both 'Starship Troopers' and 'Starship Troopers: Marauder' for Blu-ray on July 29th, the latter being day-and-date with the DVD release. No specs have been announced at this time, but expect the Sony usual 1080p AVC video encode with a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Extras include BonusView material on both releases, featuring interviews, graphics, special effects information, and more. 'Starship Troopers' will feature all the content from the previous DVD release - which includes deleted scenes, several featurettes, audio commentary, a documentary, and episodes of the TV series "Roughnecks: The Starship Trooper Chronicles". 'Starship Troopers: Marauder' will feature two commentaries and two featurettes.

I just received my UK import of this yesterday, so this new is a bit irrelevant now. Oh, well. Hopefully, it won't be postponed again like late last year. That would be pretty disappointing to all the fans.

Finally, at long last. One of the reasons I sided with Blu-ray, and I've held off on importing it from the U.K. all this time. I can't wait!

Meh, I dunno, I wasn't fully convinced by the movie. I'll pick it up anyway, maybe watching it in Full 1080p Will change my mind I'm loving all the release information....although my credit card is wimpering just thinking of more purchases...

Hmm, Starship Troopers was a good movie, I remember it even now. As far as Mauraders goes, never heard of it until now. Sounds fun though.

Hell, yeah! It's about time! Denise Richards is so hot! And seeing her in the first film in full 1080p will be all the sweeter!! And as far as "Starship Troopers: Marauder" goes, I just hope that Casper Van Dien's return can restore the series to its former glory before "Starship Troopers 2" came out!

Woohoo for the first one! A question to those in the know...is the new one (Marauder) going to be more like the first one, and MUCH less like the 2nd one? The second one was so bad I had to turn it off after 5 minutes (and I hate doing that in general) but I'm pretty sure it was a direct to video kind of thing. God the second one was bad...I still cringe thinking about it.

Well this will save me the trouble of importing!! I thought the movie was good and as an interesting side note while I served in the US Marine Corps the Starship Troopers short story was actully listed on the Commandant's reading list.

One of my favorite films with some great CGI which should look swish on Blu-ray! Marauder is another direct-to-DVD feature film, as far as I know, though it does star Casper Van Dien again as Johnny Rico from the first film...
