I've pre-ordered the Steelbook with Amazon but I like the artwork on the regular edition other than the fact that if, by some small chance you haven't seen the film, it contains a pretty massive spoiler......
Darn you Region Locked! I had a few Arrows but stopped buying due to that specific reason. Don't wanna buy a whole new player just for this...but now I am probably going to. Ugh...any good region free player recommendations? Or websites to check out? Please help.
Check out Multi Region Magic, that's the only website I can think of when it comes to Multi-region blu ray players.
Pre-ordered the regular edition on the Arrow website for £9.99, can't wait to see this. It's a shame that Arrow has started Region locking their releases, but still Criterion have been doing this for years so...
@ *RedStar*: Do yourself the favor and invest in a region free blu ray player. Just make sure that the site you use has a guarantee. Not sure if you are in the states, but Bombay Electronics in Chicago has some good ones. I recently bought an Oppo BDP-103 (kinda costly, but I play SACDs on it as well) and I have had several firmware updates and it still plays all region discs (even Pal DVDs). I am glad I went region free because I LOVE movies and the UK is releasing some stellar discs that won't get released here in the states anytime soon. Plus no more worrying if a disc is region coded or not. Happy shopping!
Just to be clear, a stock Oppo player is NOT a multi-region player. You have to buy an accessory kit from a third party. Some of those third parties may be Oppo dealers and may install the kit, but buying direct from OPPO, it will never be multi-region. And sometimes, when those kits are installed, they won't work after Oppo does a firmware upgrade.
I agree with dressedtokill, most of us have seen the film, but a lot of new covers for older films are too spoiler-ish.
Glad I managed to hold off on the US release, looking forward to this. Just sorry I won't be able to lend it to friends do to region B.
I pre-ordered the steelbook version. Love that they are using the original theatrical poster art. Wish they had squeezed in the tagline, From Deep Space The Seed Is Planted......The Terror Grows, somewhere on the cover.
MGM/Fox did a pretty bad job with the cover for the US release. Also, why don't American companies release more steelbooks? I know Universal recently released some catalog titles in steelbook versions, but I already owned the ones I would've purchased.
