Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of director Andrzej Bartkowiak's Exit Wounds, starring Steven Seagal, DMX and Eva Mendes, and Joseph Kahn's Torque, which stars Martin Henderson, Jamie Pressly and Ice Cube. Bothaction thrillers street on April 22, 2014.
In Exit Wounds, tough cop Orin Boyd (Segal) is transferred to Detroit's deadliest precinct where his path crosses with that of local drug dealer Latrell Walker (Earl "DMX" Simmons). In Torque, biker Cary Ford (Henderson) is framed by an old rival and biker gang leader for the murder of another gang member who happens to be the brother of Trey (Ice Cube), leader of the most feared gang in the country. Ford suddenly finds himself on the run, trying to clear his name.
Warner has yet to detail tech specs or special features for either release.
Took them long enough to finally announce Exit Wounds. Day one for me. Exit Wounds was, IMO, Steven Seagal's comeback film before Half Past Dead pretty much killed his career. And Torque is another great guilty pleasure, so day one for me as well.
I have to agree with tylerdurden10 - I'm not for one minute knocking the people who like these 2 films but they're not exactly the best WB has to offer. It just seems odd that these minor titles (especially Torque) get released and there's dozens of higher profile titles in the vaults screaming out for BD upgrades.
My heart sinks every time I read an announcement of low-end titles.
