Exit Wounds & Torque Blu-rays

Posted December 20, 2013 05:09 PM by Webmaster

Warner 90th AnniversaryWarner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of director Andrzej Bartkowiak's Exit Wounds, starring Steven Seagal, DMX and Eva Mendes, and Joseph Kahn's Torque, which stars Martin Henderson, Jamie Pressly and Ice Cube. Bothaction thrillers street on April 22, 2014.

In Exit Wounds, tough cop Orin Boyd (Segal) is transferred to Detroit's deadliest precinct where his path crosses with that of local drug dealer Latrell Walker (Earl "DMX" Simmons). In Torque, biker Cary Ford (Henderson) is framed by an old rival and biker gang leader for the murder of another gang member who happens to be the brother of Trey (Ice Cube), leader of the most feared gang in the country. Ford suddenly finds himself on the run, trying to clear his name.

Warner has yet to detail tech specs or special features for either release.

Took them long enough to finally announce Exit Wounds. Day one for me. Exit Wounds was, IMO, Steven Seagal's comeback film before Half Past Dead pretty much killed his career. And Torque is another great guilty pleasure, so day one for me as well.

Now bring on The Glimmer Man, Fire Down Below & On Deadly Ground

Torque is surprisingly entertaining and Exit Wounds marks the last decent Segal movie. If they're both inexpensive I could see snagging these.

I have to agree with tylerdurden10 - I'm not for one minute knocking the people who like these 2 films but they're not exactly the best WB has to offer. It just seems odd that these minor titles (especially Torque) get released and there's dozens of higher profile titles in the vaults screaming out for BD upgrades.
My heart sinks every time I read an announcement of low-end titles.

Thanks, WB. We still don't have classics like "The Big Sleep" on blu-ray, but at least we can console ourselves with fat Steven Seagal and a "Fast and the Furious" rip-off.

Was anyone honestly anticipating these to come to Blu-ray? Oh, you were? Shame on you... but seriously, was anyone?

I love a guilty pleasure (these certainly qualify), but c'mon Warner Bros. releasing these before "Clean & Sober" is lame.

"We could restore Goodfellas, or we can release Torque and a Seagal movie. Which should we do?"
"What do you think we are, Sony? Universal?"
"Torque it is."

At least WB is still releasing catalog titles...Heck, they're releasing their own, plus Paramount's. Thank you WB!!!

I agree with Rybev on what has been stated. With that said, Jamie Pressly is so damn hot as the bad girl in Torque! Day one for DVD replacement (pending transfer review, of course).

Was Exit Wounds the last movie Seagal did before he started his 20 Big Mac hamburgers and milkshakes per day diet?

@knobby69: "What's the 2014 major releases on blu-Ray????" It's a little early, but we already know about:

The Killing Fields
Tequila Sunrise
Hairspray (the original)
Get Carter (both versions)
Sorcerer

Other catalog releases include:

City of Angels
Two Weeks Notice
Rock Star
Conspiracy Theory

This leaves out the Paramount-licensed titles, which include some major catalog items that would otherwise still be sitting on the shelf.
