Roger Michell's Le Week-End Detailed

Posted December 23, 2013 04:34 PM by Webmaster

Curzon Film WorldCurzon Film World, Artificial Eye's sister label, has officially announced and detailed its upcoming Blu-ray release of director Roger Michell's (Notting Hill) latest film Le Week-End (2013), starring Jeff Goldblum, Jim Broadbent, and Lindsay Duncan. The release will be available for purchase on February 10th.

Earlier this year, Le Week-End won Best Actress Award (Lindsay Duncan) at the at the 16th Moet British Independent Film Awards.

Nick (Broadbent) and Meg (Duncan), a married couple approaching 60, return to Paris to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary with hopes of reigniting the spark in their relationship. Desperately clinging on to their marriage which has evidently gone stale in the past few years, they embark on a trip throughout the city visiting memorable landmarks and places of mutual interest, but with each of them also having their own reservations about the relationship, tensions build between the pair as the trip goes on. However, a chance meeting with an old friend (Goldblum) results in the couple being invited to a party at his fashionable new home, and after their run-in with the Parisian bourgeoisie they begin to appreciate the qualities that sparked their initial attraction to each other. Written by best-selling author Hanif Kureishi.

Special Features:
  • Interview with Roger Michell and Jim Boradbent
  • Interview with Roger Michell and Hanif Kureishi
  • Director and Producer's Commentary
  • Theatrical Trailer

Goldblum. Pretty much enough reason for me to give it a shot!
