Inside Llewyn Davis Blu-ray

Posted February 4, 2014 11:44 PM by Webmaster

Sony PicturesSony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced the Blu-ray release of Joel and Ethan Coen's Inside Llewyn Davis, starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, Stark Sands, Adam Driver and F. Murray Abraham. The film is nominated for two Academy Awards (Cinematography and Sound Mixing) and arrives on Blu-ray on March 11th.

Official Synopsis: Inside Llewyn Davis follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Davis (Isaac) is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, some of them of his own making. Living at the mercy of both friends and strangers, Llewyn's misadventures take him from the baskethouses of Greenwich Village to an empty Chicago club -- on an odyssey to audition for a music mogul -- and back again.

Brimming with music performed by Isaac, Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan, as well as Marcus Mumford and Punch Brothers, the film represents the Coen Brothers' fourth collaboration with multiple-Grammy and Academy Award-winning music producer T Bone Burnett.

Inside Llewyn Davis is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround. Special features include:
  • Inside Inside Llewyn Davis: This 40-minute making-of documentary offers insights from the filmmakers, cast, crew and musicians, including Oscar Isaac, Elijah Wald, Stark Sands, T Bone Burnett, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Marcus Mumford, Chris Thile, John Goodman, F. Murray Abraham, Jess Gonchor, Mary Zophres and Bruno Delbonnel.

Day one for sure on this one, too bad it didn't get the Oscar nod.

Between this and 12 Years a Slave, it was a good announcement day. I do wish this had more special features, but the documentary on the music is cool.

Incredible film! Will pick this one up as soon as possible. Completely robbed of Academy Awards.

The doc has been on Showtime quite a bit lately, it's pretty good for what's essentially an extended EPK.

I hate to sound like a broken record lately (I thought 2013 was a great year in film), but I fucking loved this movie. Yeah, it's unfortunate it too was overlooked at the Oscars (like "Rush", "Mud", "Saving Mr. Banks", etc). It's still on of the year's very best movies. I will buy this for sure!

It's too bad that "Another Day, Another Time" wasn't included, but maybe that will get a separate release on blu.

A fantastic film, my personal favorite of 2013. Easily one of the best from the Coens.

There was no reason why this was snubbed. There were only 9 nominees this year. This should've taken the tenth slot, or at least replace Dallas Buyers Club if they want to keep the 9th slot.

Three big multiplexes in my immediate area and none of them saw fit to host this. Looking forward to the blu-ray release!

This and Blue Jasmine should both be subtitled: In Praise Of A Repugnant Loser
