Loved this movie, will be a definate buy for me. That chainsaw sounding out in uncompressed audio will be bone chilling.

So this is the original and not the remake correct? I may get this. It would be nice if the remake and its sequal/prequal is released along side this one.

Damn...the part in the truck when she's wrapped up in the carpet and he's kicking her and laughing at her.....daaaaaaaaaaaamn.

Nobody is EVER going to touch that kind of disturbing again.

Interesting - the original was shot on 16mm. Wonder how many complaints the BD will get because
of a 'soft transfer'.

This is "the" horror classic to own and one helluva disturbing movie hence.... I'm getting this one. Man.... the scene where "Leatherface" bops the guy on the head and then slams the steel shut is one of the scariest scenes in cinema history.

Will they fix the errors on their "restored" mono track? Hell, will they even offer a mono track? I need to wait and see on this one.

Is Dark Sky a "good" cult-indie company? BCI and Blue Underground I've heard of, but... 6_6 '''

The original is called "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" so either this is the remake or the title is a typo. it wasn't until the remake that Chain Saw was compressed into one word.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

A must have for sure BUT please keep it grainy with NO use of DNR... Also pack the Blu-ray full of features if your reading this Dark Sky! ;-)

YES!!! I e-mailed them about three months ago, asking if there was any chance they would release with all the bonus features found on the Ultimate Edition steelbook. What a great package that was. They never did reply, but this news here is all I needed to hear. I'm hoping we get all that plus the new stuff. Thank you, Dark Sky!

Definite must-buy for me. I'd like to see them make others in the series as well (although no other stacked up to the original)

Eventhough it doesn't specify if its the original or remake, I am still excited that they are looking to release these on Blu-Ray.

Though I will be hoping its the original and I'll be picking it up immeadiately.

It's the original. If you read, it says "Classic" and I dont think the remake is a classic yet haha. But I definitely wouldn't mind having both versions come out I liked them both a lot.
