Summit Entertainment has announced that they will bring the brawling drama 'Never Back Down' to Blu-ray on July 29th, day-and-date with the DVD release. No technical specs have been announced for the film at this time. The film will be presented in its extended "Beat Down" version, which is unrated.
Never Back Down = Karate Kid for the 21st Century. Really lame attempt at trying to put MMA on the big screen. The previews showed a guy doing a capoeria kick during a fight, wonder if Urijah Faber or Anderson Silva took notes. Oh wait, they don't do that in real MMA. Fail. I will buy it though
super realistic....guy just happens to move to a town with a almost professional mma underground....minute he walks into school everyone is watching a video of him beating
someone up....and of course he goes after the bad guys girlfriend.......
Friend who loves mma said this was Super crap....I personally would never consider watching
this....
i am a huge mma fan. i thought this was not a great, but definately a good movie. it gets you pumped up and motivated to work out harder. even my girlfriend who doesn't really care for mma (but will watch mma), absoutely loved this movie.
I say why because when I saw the trailer I just shook my head and my first thought was exactly what "Xerious" said which is they're just re-inventing the Karate Kid for the new millenium. I'm always happy to see more blu but I say toss this in the bin with the rest of the "You got served", "Bring it on" stuff.
