I had never seen these films until this past Halloween. I picked up the two film DVD set. I liked them both a lot, though like others, I thought the sequel had a broader story and was the better of the two. Though it's nice to see this on DVD, they should have done a 2 film collection. For now, I will stick to my DVD of both.
Oh, for I moment when I read the headline I thought it was the TV show, then I looked at the cover and the joy was gone. But this movie is good, not as good as the sequel, but still quite funny. Weak cover, though.
Im sure this will be just like the release of "Airplane!". That came out first about 2 years ago, the sequel released not too long ago. Now just recently released is the double feature of both. Im sure the Addams Family films will follow that same path. I will wait for the double feature release. I rate both films pretty equally. But hey, they have the late great Raul Julia in them. One of the great ones gone too soon.
Hmm wish they were both being released at the same time, either as a box set or separately. With the way the studios like to release odd ball 2 or 3 movie collections, Addams Family, like Analyze This/That, is a 2-fer that makes sense.
Just watched this with our youngest the other day! Glad to see it coming out. The wife and I played this pinball game so much back when we were dating. Almost 20 years later and it's still one of my favorite machines ever. "That's the spirit thing! Lend a hand!"
Hope this is a great transfer. I'd love to upgrade! As others have said, not sure about that cover, though. The dvd has a much better one. I also hope this means the sequel is on its way. The scene when Wednesday smiles...
