In my day we didn't have "lines". They were blocks, just blocks, dammit, and you made do! None of this fancy-schmancy superhero crapola! Ya stuck a yellow block on top of a couple blue blocks and there was your hero! A bunch of rectangular blocks with a flat panel on top was an airplane! Ya used yer imagination! I tell ya, kids these days... (Fantastic movie by the way, I WANT IT!)
I'm old school. I loved:
- The lighting-package for houses and hotels (mostly played when I was told to go to sleep),
- The yellow castle (my 'biggest' love)
- 'Technical Lego' series, including the pneumatic and electric motors
37 dollars for the everything is awesome edition , thats awesome .
Also comes with a double-decker couch to watch with my buddies that's awesome.
I have that awesome song in my head ever since.
Oh yeah star wars ,Indiana jones, lord of the rings
Before everything had other brands attached to it I loved the medieval lego. Swords, spears, decapitate-able people, castles. It was awesome. So we'll say that. They also had pirate sets, so that's #2. And for #3, I'll go with the Cuusoo line (now Lego Ideas). Very cool stuff, and loved building my Back to the future Delorean.
When I was a kid, I was really into all the LEGO police sets for some reason, so that's my number 1. The other two are based on my experiences with the video games, as when I was into LEGO I only did the police sets and random creations.
