Guardians of the Galaxy: New Trailer

Posted June 17, 2014 10:23 AM by Webmaster

Marvel StudiosDisney and Marvel Studios have released a new international trailer for writer/director James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace as Ronan, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Glenn Close as Nova Prime Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. The film is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on August 1st.

Official Synopsis: From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team: the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe.

To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits: Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand--with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

James Gunn is the director of the film with Kevin Feige producing, and Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jeremy Latcham, Alan Fine and Stan Lee serve as executive producers. The story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by Gunn.

I gotta admit, it does look a little better than the previous teasers/trailers. I'd written this movie off on my list of "will never see it" movies, but now I might give it a rental.

This particular trailer actually gives me a "Farscape" kind of vibe, it's nice. Although I do hope they give Groot subtitles so I know what he's actually saying, but if not, oh well.

Rocket Raccoon looks to be the most interesting character.

@Wolverine626: "Although I do hope they give Groot subtitles so I know what he's actually saying, but if not, oh well."

Don't know about the movie, but in the comics, Groot apparently only ever says "Groot!"

Agreed... a little Farscape with the same humor/dialog as Firefly.... but still looks great.

It looks descent , but Rocket Raccoon looks like he might be the new Jar Jar. He might seem cool to small children and man-childs. Other than that.....annoyingly cheesy.

@Poya: Uhura? I see Neytiri, but only Nichelle Nichols will ever truly be Uhura.

All Groot ever says is "I am Groot", no subtitles required.
