The Expendables 3: Full U.S. Trailer
Posted June 17, 2014 05:59 PM by Webmaster
Lionsgate Films and Millennium Films have released a full U.S. trailer for Patrick Hughes' The Expendables 3 (2014), starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, Glen Powell and Kelsey Grammer. The film is set to open in theaters across the United States on August 15th.
Official synopsis: Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill... or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables' most personal battle yet.
@prozacnation1978: You gonna let a bunch of MPAA wussies tell you whether or not to see this? Stallone reportedly wants it PG-13 to broaden the audience. (Translation: He needs teens in the multiplexes to pay for enough has-beens to make The Expendables 4, and The ExpendaBelles, worthwhile. )
PG-13 cheese. Too much silliness, and at least one over-the-top stunt scene. Looks like a 'Fast & Furious' movie(that's not a compliment). And did somebody say "80's nostalgia?" This looks NOTHING like an 80's action movie. It just has 80's action stars in it.
What you can do with PG-13 now is very different than the existing perception most of us have of the rating. I refused to see the new Robocop reboot because of that and ended up not even noticing it. Ditto Live Free Or Die Hard less a bit of vulgarity. I can trust that Sly hasn't short changed us here accordingly.
PG-13 = no go for me. All they want and by they I mean the studios and execs is a bunch of people as many as humanly possible coming to see their movie in the hopes of being the next huge Marvel or Transformers style blockbuster, so all the teens can pack their way into the theaters. Funny when I was growing up almost every movie I wanted to see was rated R Terminator, Mad Max, Aliens, Rambo, Escape From LA. I'm tired of this pussy attitude by movie companies to make a movie for everyone, f^*# that. Expendables is not a family movie franchise like Captain America or Iron Man . Half these dumb ass teenagers don't even care about Arnie or Sly, or Bruce Willis so why pander to them? I want old grizzled action heroes swear and shoot guys into chunks of meat while hammering out crappy one-liners. I for one won't be seeing this movie in theaters, if they decide to release a true R-rated cut on blu ray I'm all in until then I'm done with this PG-13 garbage. Thank goodness for movies like Kick-Ass, Sin City, and Dredd just to name a few for not caving to this PG-13 nonsense.
