Run Silent, Run Deep Blu-ray

  U.S. distributors Kino Lorber have confirmed that they are planning to release on Blu-ray Robert Wise's Run Silent, Run Deep (1958), starring Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster, Jack Warden, Brad Dexter, Don Rickles, and Nick Cravat. The release is scheduled to arrive on the U.S. market on September 23rd.
Official synopsis: Rich Richardson is a hard-driving, dedicated submarine officer with a single-minded purpose - to seek out and smash the Japanese destroyer he believes sunk his former ship. Given a new command, Richardson drills his men to point of mutiny as he relentlessly trains them for the battle ahead. At last, word comes of the destroyer's position, and disobeying orders, Richardson finally confronts his foe, unaware that and even greater enemy lurks nearby...one who's been targeting him for a watery grave.

Finally! This has been one of my most eagerly awaited titles on Blu. Gable, Lancaster, Rickles, and Warden in one move together. You can't go wrong here. |

Just saw this about a week ago on TCM. It's been near the top of my wishlist for a while, I just hope Kino did a good job with it. Another WWII submarine movie off my wishlist, now we just need Destination Tokyo. |
