Limited Edition Gift Set with Grimlock and Optimus Collectible Statue
it's crazy that they have pretty decent packaging design and everything already..not bad looking though, hopefully the 3d won't come later like with the third one. terrible reviews on the film, but i might go with that visa signature b1g1 deal..
@crazyman - I don't think people who drop the $80 for the limited edition Grimlock/Optimus Prime set are doing so for the film. Sadly there's such a lack of decent quality looking statues made available and if this one ends up being a good solid display piece, I can understand why they'd drop the money for it. I'm sure a handful of people will go in for the statue edition and sell off the bluray copy for 20 to 30 bucks to cut the cost of the statue.
I humbly request that EVERYONE buy a few copies of this... With enough fools throwing money at Paramount for this franchise, we can have Transformers movies released every two years until the end of time! How awesome would that be??!?
I won't let the reviews deter me. Transformers movies are what they aspire to be: mindless summer popcorn fodder. It would only be surprising if a Transformers movie was actually critically well received - which is even less likely to happen just because it's a dreaded "sequel". It's bound to be miles better than the second GI Joe - which was almost contrived to the point of almost being contemptable. But, even it had a market. My 10 year old nephew said it was one of the best movies he'd ever seen.
Isn't amazing how much these guys are going to milk this cow for every penny they can get? They gitcha with a pretty new statue, but leave out the 3D or IMAX edition and then later down the road, then they will release 3D and IMAX formats. By the time it is all said and done, you've got over $120 bucks into this one movie. Order cancelled on this one. I'll way for the 3D and IMAX edition. I like collecting the movie statues, but not enough to feed the starving studio kids.
